A SONG + A GAME LEARNING
Game songs teach children physical and rhythmic co-ordination along with language and social skills. Since language is the key to learning, using it as part of creative play, builds this skill without children even realizing it.
Something as simple as a game song can help a child to:
- Develop listening skills and to listen to others.
- Take turns and giving others a chance to do this too.
- Forge a feeling of security within a group.
- Co-operate.
- Make decisions e. g. when actions or words are changed.
- Accept a set off rules applicable to the game being played.
- Use imagination.
- Enable leadership to emerge and empathy to develop.
- Practice verbal skills and learn new vocabulary.
- Develop muscular control and co-ordination.
- Develop proprioception and vestibular systems.
- Develop emotionally, and learn socially acceptable behaviour.
- Have fun, relax and de-stress. (needed at any age)

The emphasis in using music should be enjoyment and play, as it is through play that children learn best.
